Results
For 2026, the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has launched significant recruitment drives for several Constable categories. Key details for current and upcoming applications are as follows:
Current Recruitment Notifications (2026)
Multiple notifications have been released for different divisions of the J&K Police:
- Constable (Executive): 1,815 vacancies (934 in Jammu Division, 881 in Kashmir Division).
- Application Dates: January 19, 2026, to February 17, 2026.
- Constable (Armed/IRP and SDRF): 487 vacancies.
- Application Dates: February 1, 2026, to March 2, 2026.
- Constable (Telecommunication & Photographer): 182 vacancies.
- Application Dates: Starting February 1, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Education: Minimum Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognized board. Some technical posts (like Telecommunication) may require 10+2 with Science.
- Age Limit: Generally 18–28 years as of January 1, 2025. Relaxations apply for in-service personnel (up to 30) and SPOs/Home Guards (up to 40).
- Physical Standards (Male): Height 5’6″; Chest 32″ (unexpanded) to 33.5″ (expanded).
- Physical Standards (Female): Height 5’2″.
Selection Process & Salary
- Written Examination: Objective-type OMR-based test (English language only). There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
- Physical Tests: Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET) (e.g., 1600m run for males in 6.5 mins; 1000m for females).
- Final Stages: Document Verification and Medical Examination.
- Salary: Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) plus standard allowances (DA, HRA, TA).
How to Apply
All applications must be submitted online via the Official JKSSB Portal.
- Fee: ₹700 for General candidates; ₹600 for SC/ST/EWS categories.
